A two-time Gatorade player of the year winner in Utah, Henry was headed for Brigham Young before the Brewers made him their sixth-round pick in the 2016 Draft and signed him for $550,600, nearly twice the recommended value for his slot. He showed promise on both sides of the ball the following year in the Rookie-level Pioneer League and continued to make strides in 2018 with the move up to Class A Wisconsin.
Henry generates above-average raw power from the right side of the plate. He's already shown some feel for applying it during games, too, hitting some of his farthest home runs to right-center field. While there is present swing-and-miss to his game, as well as some pull-side tendencies, Henry has an advanced approach that nets him walks and suggests he'll hit for more average as he matures.
In his first full season, Henry, who is praised for his energy and leadership skills behind the plate, threw out nearly 44 percent (46 of 105) of attempted basestealers and committed just six passed balls. A quick release and a strong, accurate arm help Henry to combat the running game, and club officials have been impressed with how he's developed a receiving style that utilizes his big, athletic frame. Overall, he has the makings of becoming a power-over-hit everyday catcher at the highest level.
