A $425,000 signing out of the Dominican Republic in 2023, Soler was the D-backs’ third-largest addition in that class in terms of bonus and has continued to carve out an impressive standing for himself in the organization. He was a solid performer in the Dominican Summer League in his first season with a 97 wRC+ in his first 37 games and took off more stateside last year. The third baseman hit .303/.351/.472 with six homers in 53 games in the Arizona Complex League in his age-18 campaign and even got in a pair of games with Single-A Visalia to round out 2024.
Soler looks relaxed from the right side of the box, lifts his lead leg a little and then relies on his hands to fire. It works because he’s able to manipulate the barrel well and put bat on ball consistently. His 17.2 percent strikeout rate in the ACL was solid for a player with his age and experience, though he did start to expand the zone much more than he had in the DSL. He’s already well built in his 5-foot-11 frame, and the raw power is above average. But he gets on top of the ball too often (50.3 percent ground-ball rate in the ACL), and he’ll continue to need to add lift to get to that pop.
Soler has been third base-only at this early stage in his career, and D-backs officials feel like he’s a good fit for the position with good reads and reactions off the bat and plenty of arm strength for throws across the diamond, despite below-average speed overall. He’ll head to full-season ball for a longer look in 2025 and to potentially solidify his standing in Arizona’s infield corps.

Arizona signed Soler for $425,000 out of the Dominican Republic at the opening of the 2023 international period, and the infielder got his career off to a solid start in the Dominican Summer League, hitting .252/.363/.358 with two homers, a 12.3 percent strikeout rate and a 97 wRC+ over 37 games. He moved stateside for the 2024 season and once again held his own, this time with a .303/.351/.472 line and six homers in 53 games in the Arizona Complex League. His 17.2 percent K rate was third-lowest among the 32 qualified players aged 18 or younger in the ACL.
Batting from the right side, Soler looks impressively relaxed in the box and shows good bat-to-ball skills at such an early stage in his career. He’s hit the ball on the ground a ton early on in his career -- around 50 percent of the time in both the DSL and ACL -- and while the D-backs were enthused by how he was starting to elevate more late in 2024, he’ll need to do that over a longer sample to project for average home-run pop. Soler already pulls the ball a decent amount, so some lift would go a long way toward adding even more extra-base hits.
Even though the 5-foot-11 infielder is a below-average runner, the D-backs are pleased with how he’s taken to third base in the pros, believing he has the actions and arm strength to stick there for the long term. Between his contact rates and defense, there is a solid foundation for Soler to enter full-season ball next summer and become a larger piece of Arizona’s impressive Minor League infield depth.
