After signing as a 17th-round pick from a Puerto Rican high school in 2023, Rodriguez spent his first three seasons in pro ball in Tampa. Minor injuries limited him to 90 plate appearances in 2023-24 with the Yankees' Rookie-level Florida Complex League team there, and he returned to the FCL to start last year. He earned a promotion to their Single-A Florida State League affiliate after six weeks and slashed .237/.342/.392 with two homers in 30 games before missing the final month with a sprained wrist.
Rodriguez has a quick left-handed stroke, makes reasonably good swing decisions and generates a lot of contact and promising exit velocities. Overly pull-conscious in his first two years as a pro, Rodriguez settled down his approach in 2025. He began to understand that he doesn't have to launch every pitch he sees to right field, which resulted in fewer rolled-over grounders, and he should develop 20-homer pop as he continues to get stronger.
Rodriguez possesses solid speed and some basestealing savvy. He has spent most of his early pro career on the outfield corners, where he's a solid defender with average arm strength. He may be quick enough to handle center field and should get more of an opportunity to show what he can do there in 2026.

A Puerto Rican high school product, Rodriguez signed for $150,000 as a 17th-round pick in the 2023 Draft. Minor injuries limited him to 90 plate appearances in the Rookie-level Florida Complex League during his first two years as a pro, and he began 2025 with a third stint in the FCL. He earned a promotion six weeks into the season and made an easy transition to Single-A.
Wilson has a quick left-handed stroke and is learning that he doesn't have to pull every pitch he sees, like he did in his first two seasons. As he continues to add strength and mature as a hitter, he could develop 20-homer power. He makes reasonable swing decisions for a youngster and shows a willingness to draw walks.
Rodriguez is a good athlete with plus speed and basestealing aptitude. Though the Yankees have deployed him mostly on the outfield corners, he's quick enough to handle center field. His average arm strength works fine at all three outfield spots.
