Brito was a little bit more of a lower profile signing for the Rockies during the 2024 international signing period, getting $420,000 to begin his career. He started to move the prospect needle when he came to the United States in 2025, earning Arizona Complex League MVP honors and then continuing to put up gaudy numbers with a bump to full-season Fresno, helping them in the California League playoffs. The 18-year-old finished with a .371/.444/.516 line across 84 total games.
A 5-foot-11 switch-hitter, Brito was impressive from both sides of the plate during his stateside debut, consistently hitting the ball hard. There’s sneaky pop and he helps himself with a solid overall approach that includes seeing pitches, drawing walks and keeping the swing-and-miss in check. He has a strong sense of where his contact point should be, though he can occasionally get a bit jumpy at the dish. The next step in his hitting development will be for him to not get too quick into his front side, which could be exploited by pitchers at higher levels who are better at getting hitters to chase.
A plus runner who can steal bags, Brito was signed as a middle infielder and the plan is for him to still get reps on the dirt at second base. But the Rockies felt he looked more comfortable roaming around in center field, where his plus athleticism is an asset. He took people by surprise in 2025, but the expectation bar is raised for an encore performance.

The Rockies' prize acquisition at the start of the 2024 international signing period was shortstop Ashly Andujar, who signed for $1.7 million and is off to a solid start in his pro career. It's possible, though, that he's been passed by Brito, another Dominican infielder who received $420,000 to join the organization at the same time. After a solid, albeit unspectacular debut that summer in the Dominican Summer League, Brito hit the ground running stateside in 2025. He earned Arizona Complex League honors after hitting .368/.445/.555 over 51 games. That earned him a late promotion to Single-A Fresno, where he kept raking (.375/.442/.463 in 33 games) and then hit leadoff for the Grizzlies, going 3-for-9 in the California League playoffs.
Compact at 5-foot-11, Brito is a twitchy athlete and switch-hitter, who has shown an ability to hit the ball hard from both sides of the plate. In his brief time with the Rockies, he's shown he has a gameplan at the plate, is willing to draw walks and keeps his swing-and-miss relatively limited. There's extra-base thump in there, with perhaps more power to come, but he profiles more as a catalyst type who could sit atop a lineup long term. His plus speed would be an asset there as well, especially if he can learn the nuances of the basestealing craft (35 steals, 14 caught in 2025).
Signed as a middle infielder, Brito did see a little time at shortstop during his pro debut, but has spent most of his time on the dirt at second, in deference to Andujar. He added center field this year, giving him more defensive versatility and has looked fine defensively in both spots, giving the Rockies options should his offensive game continue to trend upwards as he moves up the ladder.
