Scouting Report

2026

Scouting grades: Hit: 35 | Power: 60 | Run: 30 | Arm: 50 | Field: 45 | Overall: 40

Guzman signed for only $10,000 out of the Dominican Republic in September 2022 and played in the Dominican Summer League the two following seasons without standing out much statistically -- his highest seasonal OPS down there was .691. He came stateside all the same for 2025 and broke out in a big way with a .302/.375/.524 line and 10 homers in 75 games between the Florida Complex League and Single-A St. Lucie. His 18 extra-base hits in 26 games following his debut in full-season ball on July 25 were second-most in the Florida State League over that span, trailing only Top 100 prospect Alfredo Duno’s 22.

Standing 6-foot-4 and batting from the right side, Guzman begins with his hands held high above his head before loading up with a toe tap to unleash his power. He’s up there to hack -- he ran a 43 percent chase rate in the FSL -- but he can show adaptability on spin inside the zone too. When he runs into a ball, he really runs into it with his strength. Guzman ran a 108.5 mph 90th-percentile exit velocity at Single-A, better than Konnor Griffin’s 107.7 in the same league. It’s always going to be that pop that intrigues most, though the overall approach will be a restrictor plate unless he makes more adjustments.

A well-below-average runner, Guzman has seen time at all four corners of the infield and outfield during his three professional seasons. His primary focus was at first base in 2025 with some left and right field mixed in. He’s almost certainly going to be locked into the cold corner long-term, but his slugging ability gives him a fighting chance to clear the high offensive bar there.

A well-below-average runner, Guzman has seen time at all four corners of the infield and outfield during his three professional seasons. His primary focus was at first base in 2025 with some left and right field mixed in, third base was left behind in the DSL. He’s almost certainly going to be locked into the cold corner long term, but his slugging ability gives him a fighting chance to clear the high offensive bar there.
