Tejada's power caught the attention of the Giants, who signed him for $147,500 out of the Dominican Republic in January. He has had no trouble adapting to pro ball as one of the most productive hitters on the Giants Black team in the Rookie-level Dominican Summer League. He slammed 10 extra-bases hits in his first 17 games.

Tejada has a stocky 5-foot-11 with plenty of strength, and generates quality bat speed with his simple right-handed swing. He has an affinity for launching balls in the air to his pull side and could produce 25-homer seasons in his prime. Though he has a power mindset, he also shows some feel for hitting and managing the strike zone. 

Though Tejada has manned center field in his pro debut, his average speed is better suited for a corner. His offensive profile and average to solid arm strength will fit nicely in right field. While he's not a speedster, he's aggressive on the bases.
