Scouting Report

2026

Scouting grades: Fastball: 55 | Curveball: 50 | Slider: 50 | Changeup: 45 | Control: 45 | Overall: 40

A former catcher, Hall redshirted his freshman year at Division II Central Missouri and moved into the Mules’ bullpen as a sophomore with rough results (9.20 ERA in 14 2/3 innings) in 2024. He was showing signs of a big breakout as a junior starter, fanning 19 of the 62 batters he faced, before suffering an elbow injury that required season-ending internal brace surgery. He showed enough in that limited look for the Mets to take him in the sixth round and he signed for below slot at $297,500.

Some evaluators believe that, if healthy, Hall could have gone closer to the third round based on his talent. He showed a four-seam fastball up to 98 mph in February before getting hurt, and he threw the pitch out of a low release height, generating a good vertical approach angle. If that velocity -- he was typically closer to the mid 90s early in starts before tapering off -- and movement hold, it could be a plus pitch at maturity. Hall also flashed some good low-80s sliders and upper-70s curveballs with promising depth, and he showed he could at least turn over a decent changeup.

The 6-foot-3 right-hander is still very much finding his way as a pitcher, and the elbow surgery put his collegiate development on pause. Mets officials have praised how well Hall has tackled his rehab, and coming out of the Draft, they believe he has enough promising athleticism to deliver strikes and earn starting looks. Hall could be a fun pick to click if his stuff returns to form and holds up in his first taste of the pros in 2026.
