Williams played sparingly as a freshman at Alabama in 2023 before transferring to Florida State, where he totaled 33 homers in two seasons as a starter. He rose to the occasion in two years of NCAA tournament play, batting .353 with seven homers and 19 RBIs in 15 games and leading the Seminoles to the 2024 Men's College World Series. A third-round pick in July, he signed for $897,500.

Williams offers an extreme profile at the plate, as he hit the ball consistently harder but also chased pitches out of the strike zone more often than most hitters in the 2025 college class. The bat speed in his left-handed stroke and his strength give him at least plus raw power, and it plays to all fields. He doesn't strike out excessively, but he swings at everything, especially non-fastballs, which leads to too much ground-ball contact and too few walks.

An average runner who will flash solid speed at times, Williams isn't adventuresome on the bases. He divided his sophomore season between center and left field before staying up the middle full-time this spring. He could stick in center if he improves his reads and routes, and his strong arm and power bat would profile well in right field if he has to move.

Williams started his college career at Alabama, but after getting 25 at-bats, he decided to return to his home state and transferred to Florida State, where both his brother and sister attended. He homered in his first at-bat as a Seminole, one of 14 he hit in his first season in Tallahassee, finishing with a .583 slugging percentage. It’s been more of the same as a junior, with even more consistent power production to help him rise up Draft boards.

A left-handed-hitting and throwing outfielder, Williams has shown the ability to do damage at the plate. He has a combination of strength and bat speed that points to plenty of future power as he moves to the pro game. He does it with an unusual spread out setup with little to no stride and when he’s on time, the ball jumps off his bat, with a ton of over-the-fence juice to his pull side. He can be a bit streaky, prone to starting his swing too quickly and being out in front, and he’ll need to cut down on his chase while improving his swing decisions at the next level.

More of a solid-to-average runner than a burner, Williams has done a nice job of patrolling center field for the Seminoles this year, with some scouts thinking he has a chance to potentially stick there, especially if he can improve his routes. If he has to move to a corner, he has the power potential and above-average arm strength to profile well in right field.
