From his senior year as a Florida prepster to two seasons at Florida SouthWestern State JC to his first at Jacksonville, Adams went unselected in four straight Drafts. After he led the Atlantic Sun Conference with 108 strikeouts in 90 innings in 2022, the White Sox signed him for $75,000 as a 13th-rounder. He reached Double-A and established himself as one of the best strike-throwers in the system during his first full pro season.

Adams' money pitch is his low-80s curveball with true downer break, a plus offering that he can locate for strikes or use to get chases outside the zone. His feel for spin extends to a mid-80s slider with two-plane depth, though it's not nearly as reliable as his curve. He uses both two- and four-seam fastballs in the low-90s, with his fringy sinker the more effective choice.

Adams also has a mediocre mid-80s changeup with mild fade and not enough velocity separation from his heater. His ability to pound the strike zone and create deception with a flat approach angle help him get the most out of his less than overwhelming stuff. He could be a back-of-the-rotation starter if he can miss enough bats with his fastball, and a curveball-dependent reliever if he can't.
