Signed out of the Dominican Republic for $700,000, the third-highest bonus given to any Latin American pitcher in the 2023 international crop, Reyes got knocked around in two Rookie-level leagues during his first two years as a pro. He got roughed up in his first two months in Single-A in 2025 as well before watching video of Hall of Famer Pedro Martínez, his idol, then logged a 2.98 ERA over the final three months. He may not see game action in 2026 following offseason lat surgery.
Reyes relied on his slider more than any other pitch in 2025, tying up lefties and righties with a mid-80s breaker featuring sharp, late horizontal action. He utilizes two- and four-seam fastballs that range from 91-96 mph, and the former is more effective because its run and sink generate ground balls. He's still figuring out how to harness his upper-80s splitter/changeup but it shows promising action at times.
Reyes creates good extension in his low three-quarters delivery, which combines with his low release height and flat approach angle to help his fastball play a bit better than its velocity. His strike-throwing has improved steadily with experience, giving hope that he eventually can fit in the back of a rotation. He'll be 21 next season, when he's ticketed for High-A.

The projectable Reyes has a loose arm, a plus fastball and other pitches on the way.
He’s sprouted up to 6-foot-3, also adding muscle in recent years, and it’s translated to more power and athleticism. His experience playing against competition in the United States in tournaments and the showcase circuit has also served him well. The result is a teen that is poised, competitive and does not get rattled.
His mound presence and overall demeanor when he takes the ball are also noteworthy. Not surprisingly, he has also been praised for his makeup.
Reyes is trained by the Miami Miracles. The White Sox have shown interest in him.
