Scouting Report

2026

Scouting grades: Hit: 50 | Power: 50 | Run: 60 | Arm: 50 | Field: 55 | Overall: 45

Originally ranked No. 246 in MLB Pipeline’s 2022 Draft Top 250 out of Kentucky, concerns about swing-and-miss and his commitment to Louisville led Dickerson to fall to the Twins in the 20th round. Playing sparingly with the Cardinals -- redshirting in 2023 and logging just 17 at-bats in 2024 -- he found traction after a strong summer in the Northwoods League and a transfer to Indiana, where he slashed .314/.381/.632 with 19 home runs. That performance helped him rise to a fifth-round selection by Seattle in 2025.

A right-handed hitter, Dickerson stands out for his bat speed and ability to generate premium exit velocities. Scouts see at least plus raw power to all fields, though questions remain about his ability to consistently punish higher-velocity pitching. He tends to pull aggressively but could improve his offensive ceiling by being more selective.

Defensively and athletically, Dickerson is a standout. With plus speed and 20/20 upside, he covers ground well in center field and shows the instincts and quickness that give him a chance to be a regular up-the-middle contributor. Arm strength is average but adequate for his position. His small sample in his debut season revealed a highly twitchy, athletic outfielder who aggressively tracks the ball -- a trait that excites evaluators despite a late-season hamstring and quad issue that limited reps. If Dickerson can remain healthy and continue to refine his approach at the plate, his combination of athleticism, speed, and emerging power could make him a dynamic center fielder in Seattle’s system.

2025

Scouting grades: Hit: 50 | Power: 50 | Run: 60 | Arm: 50 | Field: 55 | Overall: 45

Dickerson ranked No. 246 on MLB Pipeline's Draft Top 250 as a Kentucky high schooler in 2022, but some swing-and-miss concerns and his Louisville commitment dropped him to the Twins in the 20th round. He barely got on the field with the Cardinals, redshirting in 2023 and accumulating just 17 at-bats last spring. Following a strong summer in the Northwoods League and a transfer to Indiana, he slashed .314/.381/.632 with 19 homers, helping him land in the fifth round to the Mariners.

A right-handed hitter, Dickerson featured some of the best bat speed and exit velocities in the 2025 college crop, producing at least plus raw power to all fields. Some scouts questioned how well his pop will play in pro ball because he hadn’t fared as well against quality pitching, especially higher-velocity fastballs. He has made decent contact despite aggressively looking to pull pitches, though he could do more damage with more selectivity about which ones he puts into play.

Dickerson is a well-rounded athlete with plus speed and 20/20 upside. His quickness gives him solid range in center field, where he displays average arm strength. If he can find more consistency against premium pitching, he has the chance to be a regular up-the-middle player.
