Switch-hitting shortstops with a polished approach at the plate from a young age are sure to draw lofty comparisons, and there’s no shortage of them with it comes to De Jesus, whose ceiling has been held in the same regard as All-Stars Francisco Lindor and José Reyes. A year ago, Leodalis De Vries drew similar hype en route to being ranked as the top international prospect, and he quickly took the Single-A California League by storm at just 17 years old. De Jesus boasts many of the same top-end attributes as De Vries and has the overall package to be the jewel of the ‘25 class if it all comes together for him.
De Jesus is a much more polished product from the left side of the plate (his natural side) and displays plus bat speed with an advanced feel for the barrel. Starting from an open stance before he closes off with his stride, the timing of his leg kick enables him to tap into power that could grow into an above-average asset as he gains experience.
Boding well for his future up the middle, evaluators often first discuss De Jesus' instincts for playing shortstop. He has a potential plus arm, coupling that with quick hands and twitchy actions. De Jesus was regarded as the standout performer of the 18U World Cup in Panama during early August. During a seven-game stint, he went 8-for-22 with four extra-base hits, more walks than strikeouts and five stolen bases.

Though Roki Sasaki hogged most of the headlines in the 2025 international class, Gonzalez ranked as the best position player available. He displayed all-around ability while starring at an 18-and-under World Cup qualifier in Panama in August 2024 before signing for $2,997,500 out of the Dominican Republic five months later. He showed the possibility for plus tools across the board in his pro debut in the Rookie-level Dominican Summer League, slashing .288/.404/.455 with 19 extra base hits and 33 steals in 52 games at age 17.
A switch-hitter, Gonzalez is more polished from his natural left side but generates plenty of bat speed from both sides. While he'll obviously need to prove himself against much more advanced pitching, he controlled the strike zone well and made consistent hard contact in the DSL much better than most teenagers can. Once he learns to launch balls in the air on a regular basis, he could develop into a .280 hitter with 25 or more homers per season.
Gonzalez earns plus to double-plus grades from evaluators for his speed, and he possesses a quick first step as well as basestealing savvy. His twitchy athleticism also translates well to shortstop, where he's a fluid defender with a strong arm. His combination of impressive tools and advanced instincts have earned him comparisons to Francisco Lindor and José Reyes.

Gonzalez showed off his all-around ability at an 18-and-under World Cup qualifier in Panama in August 2024, going 8-for-22 with more extra-base hits (four), walks (six) and steals (five) than strikeouts (three). Regarded as the top performer at that event and as the best position player in the 2025 international crop, he signed with the Giants for $2,997,500, the second-highest international bonus in franchise history. He has the highest ceiling in the system as a shortstop with the potential for plus tools across the board.
A switch-hitter, Gonzalez generates electric bat speed with ease from both sides of the plate. He's a more polished hitter from his natural left side but displays plenty of power as a righty as well. He'll need to develop more consistent timing with his leg kick but his compact stroke and advanced feel for the barrel could make him a .280 hitter with 25 homers on an annual basis once he's fully developed.
At least a plus runner, Gonzalez is a twitchy athlete with a quick first step who should become a basestealing threat. Scouts have no doubts about his ability to remain at shortstop, where he has smooth actions and a strong arm. He has advanced instincts to go with his impressive physical ability and international scouts have compared him to the likes of Francisco Lindor and José Reyes.
