Scouting grades: Hit: 60 | Power: 50 | Run: 55 | Arm: 50 | Field: 55 | Overall: 55

If you’re looking for one of the purest hitters in this class, look no further than Perdomo. The teen’s bat-to-ball skills are above average, and he ranks among the best hitting prospects in the class.

He has a good feel for the strike zone and his swing continues to improve. Scouts have noted his ability to drive offspeed pitches and fastballs to all fields with relative ease, and he has a knack for making hard contact. He rarely strikes out and always puts the ball in play. With plus runner potential, Perdomo could be a threat on the basepaths in the future.

On defense, Perdomo is a fundamentally sound shortstop with enough range and arm strength to remain at the position as he makes his way through the Minor Leagues.

Perdomo is represented by Yasser Mendez, a member of MLB’s Trainer Partnership Program.

2025

Scouting grades: Hit: 55 | Power: 45 | Run: 55 | Arm: 50 | Field: 50 | Overall: 45

Imagine getting a premium sports car but not being able to see how it runs for an entire year because it broke down seemingly before you drove it off the lot. That’s kind of how the Braves are feeling with Perdomo, considered one of the best prospects in the 2024 international class who received the largest bonus anyone in the class received, $5 million, to sign. But he suffered a hamstring injury that shut him down after just eight games, leaving the Braves a little unsure what kind of player they actually have on their hands.

The good news is that Perdomo should have a clean bill of health and be able to truly get going in 2025. Thought to be one of the best pure hitters in his signing class, the right-handed hitter does not swing-and-miss much and can make consistently hard contact. With his knack for finding the barrel comes an over-aggressive approach at times, chasing out of the zone, but he seems to have good pitch recognition skills and the ability to handle all kinds of stuff. He can drive the ball to all fields and there could be plenty of power to come as he matures.

Perdomo was at least an above-average runner before the injury and the hope is that will still be an asset on the basepaths post-injury. He also has a good foundation to play shortstop long-term thanks to good range and arm strength. He’s just 18 for the 2025 season, so there’s still plenty of time for him to reach his ceiling, with the Braves eager to see him get through a full, healthy year.

2024

Scouting grades: Hit: 55 | Power: 45 | Run: 55 | Arm: 50 | Field: 50 | Overall: 50

Perdomo was ranked No. 3 on MLB Pipeline’s Top 50 international prospects list when the 2024 signing period opened in January. The Braves had a bonus pool of $5.284 million for the period and put nearly all of their chips in, giving the shortstop $5 million -- the largest bonus anyone in the class received -- to join the organization.

A right-handed hitting infielder, Perdomo was considered to be one of the best pure hitters in this international signing class. He rarely strikes out and has a knack for making hard contact with a quick and simple swing. While he’s an aggressive hitter, he has a solid approach, showing good pitch recognition skills and an ability to drive fastballs and soft stuff to all fields, with his power just starting to come. He’s at least an above-average runner who should be able to impact the game on the basepaths as well.

It's looking now like Perdomo will be able to play shortstop for a very long time. He’s fundamentally sound with plenty of range and enough arm for the premium position. He’ll be 17 years old for the entirety of his pro debut this summer.
