Scouting Report

2026

Scouting grades: Hit: 45 | Power: 40 | Run: 40 | Arm: 50 | Field: 45 | Overall: 40

After his high school career in Champaign, Illinois, Munroe stayed in-state to keep playing at the junior college level, setting both single-season and career home run records at John A. Logan College. He parlayed that to an invite to play for Louisville in 2025 and continued to perform with an OPS over 1.000 and a spot on the College World Series All-Tournament Team. The Angels took him in the fourth round of last summer's Draft, signing him for an under-slot bonus of just less than $600,000. He got his professional feet wet with a dozen games in the California League after signing and got off to a solid start with High-A Tri-City in his first full season.

Munroe is a 6-foot-2 right-handed hitter who has shown a feel to hit throughout his college career and early on with the Angels. With more of a choppy approach as an amateur, even though he found the seats at that level, he profiles more as a contact-first bat with good plate discipline, one who uses the whole field with some gap power, though he was showing some over-the-fence juice early in 2026.

A below-average runner who didn't show much in the way of quick-twitch athleticism at Louisville, there were some concerns about his ability to stick at third base at the pro level. So far, though, he's shown off average defensive tools with an average arm, giving him the chance to stick at the hot corner.
