A native of the border city of Nogales, Crisantes stayed in Arizona when the D-backs took him as a 17-year-old in the second round of the 2022 Draft. His breakout on the national prospect stage came in 2024, when he slashed .341/.429/.492 with seven homers and 30 steals in 92 games between the Arizona Complex League and Single-A Visalia. He was pushed aggressively to High-A Hillsboro for his age-20 campaign but lasted only 34 games before suffering a posterior labral tear in his left shoulder in mid-May. The subsequent surgery forced him to miss the rest of the 2025 season.

When he was out there, Crisantes continued to build on his impressive hitting resume in the Northwest League. He runs a simple operation in the box, slightly lowering his hands and lifting his leg to start his load without overcomplicating matters. The result is a lot of contact when he swings, and he barely misses on anything in the zone. Synergy had his in-zone contact rate at 93 percent in 2025. A lot of that contact is in the air too, helping him make the most of his limited raw power. How the pop responds to the shoulder and year-long layoff will be worth following in ’26.

An average runner, Crisantes is expected to be a primary second baseman moving forward with enough range to work up the middle but a limited arm. The D-backs plan to keep getting him some time at third base too, though he needs to get rid of the ball quick to make it work there. Crisantes is expected to be healthy for the start of 2026 and could be an infield option for Arizona by next year if the bat returns as expected.

Crisantes went to high school just north of the Arizona-Mexico border and stayed in state when the D-backs selected him in the seventh round in 2022. He’s been a solid pro performer at every stop since, but his big breakout came in 2024 when she slashed .355/.431/.521 over 29 games in a repeat of the Arizona Complex League and .333/.429/.478 over 63 contests with Single-A Visalia. His .341 average and .429 on-base percentage were both tops among Minor League teenagers with at least 400 plate appearances in 2024, while his 143 wRC+ placed third.

Batting from the right side with only a slight leg lift in his load, Crisantes keeps a simple and relaxed operation in the box that helps his bat-to-ball skills. He boosts the hit tool further with good swing decisions and a solid understanding of situational need. Crisantes will crush mistakes that come over the plate with his average power, but he can push balls to the opposite field when required too.

The former Arizona commit has a history of elbow issues that have limited his arm in the past, but D-backs officials believe his arm strength has come along enough that it doesn’t drag down his profile. Crisantes isn’t a complete burner, though he picks his stolen-base opportunities well, but he’s athletic enough to fit at second base. The organization also got him looks at third base and first because of a loaded infield depth chart at the lower levels, but his footwork has improved enough to keep getting more consistent opportunities at the keystone. Early-season shoulder surgery cut his 2025 short and stopped him from building on 2024's breakout.

An Arizona commit, Crisantes was a standout at Nogales High School, nearly three hours south of Chase Field on the state’s border with Mexico. The D-backs stayed local by taking the infielder in the seventh round in 2022 and went well above slot to sign him away from the Wildcats with a $425,000 bonus. Crisantes was a solid performer in the Rookie-level Arizona Complex League in his first full season, hitting .347 with a 126 wRC+ in 29 games. He returned to the ACL for 2024, continued to dominate, earned a promotion in June and has kept the train moving in his age-19 season at Single-A Visalia.

The right-handed slugger looks extremely relaxed in the box, only employing a slight leg lift in his load. This enables him to see the ball well and make consistent contact, keeping the whiffs and overall strikeouts in check. He’ll punish mistakes over the heart of the plate, and his power has begun to play more over the fence as he’s entered full-season ball. An average runner out of the box, Crisantes has shown aggression and efficiency on the basepaths in 2024, going 18-for-19 in steal attempts as of late July.

During the Draft process, many expected Crisantes would move from his high school position of shortstop to second base, and the keystone has been his primary position in pro ball. He can show decent range to his left, but his overall footwork still needs improvement up the middle. His arm is also a stretch at third base, and the D-backs have even used the teenager at first occasionally to keep his bat in the lineup. His overall hitting skills will keep earning him chances up until the point he might become a bat-first utility man.
