Jimenez’s $480,000 bonus was the fourth-highest the Mariners handed out in the 2019-20 international signing period. Like with all signees from July 2019, he had to wait through the pandemic to make his pro debut in 2021, spending two summers in the Dominican Summer League. He then ended up in the Arizona Complex League for parts of another two years before having a bit of a breakout in 2024 that allowed him to reach full-season ball for the first time. He repeated the level in 2025 and showed off an intriguing, if still unpolished, set of tools.
While he’s not the biggest guy in the world at 5-foot-10, Jimenez has shown that he can impact the baseball at times from the left side of the plate. He started barreling up the baseball more consistently in 2025 and can show solid bat-to-ball skills overall when he sticks to his approach. He also tapped into his power more effectively last year, showing leverage to his pull side, but has to make sure he doesn’t sell out for that pop and lose his approach. He can get caught in between being a guy to drive the ball with some swing-and-miss and a guy to get on base -- he does draw a good amount of walks -- who puts the ball in play.
The Mariners would love to see him be more of the second guy, letting the power come naturally, so he can keep taking advantage of his speed and athleticism on the basepaths. He can also run the ball down in center field but will likely be the kind of guy who sees time in all three outfield spots as a potential fourth outfielder type.

The Mariners invested $480,000 in Jimenez back when the 2019-20 international signing period opened in January 2019. It’s taken a while for there to be any hint of a return. First, Jimenez had to wait through the pandemic to make his pro debut in the Dominican Summer League in 2021, only to repeat the level the following year. He came stateside in 2023 and didn’t make it to full-season Modesto until June 2024. A return to the level in 2025 has led to solid results.
A sub-6-foot left-handed hitter, Jimenez has a bit of a "hit the ball in the air to the pull side" profile. He’s been more consistently finding the barrel in 2025 and he draws a good amount of walks to be to be a solid on-base guy. He’s shown more ability to get to loft-damage, leading to more over-the-fence pop of late.
Jimenez has good speed and is a threat on the basepaths. He also can use those wheels to play a solid center field. He’s shown an aptitude to play all three spots in the outfield, which bodes well for a potential career as a fourth or fifth outfielder.

At the start of the 2019-20 international signing period, the Mariners doled out a dozen six-figure bonuses. Jimenez received $480,000 to sign out of the Dominican Republic and then, as was the case with this entire international signing class, couldn’t make his official professional debut until 2021. It took a while for the outfield to gain any traction, spending two years in the Dominican Summer League before coming to the United States for the first time in 2023. He began his second summer in the Arizona Complex League this year when things started to click and he kept performing well following a bump up to full-season Modesto.
After battling some injuries at the outset of his career, a 100-percent healthy Jimenez has finally been able to show that his tools can play. He has the chance to have a little bit of a power-speed combination if things keep trending in this direction. The left-handed hitter controls the zone well and is starting to grow into some extra-base juice despite his 5-foot-10 frame.
Jimenez runs well and has shown he’s not afraid to steal a base. That speed also serves him well defensively, where he has the chance to be a center fielder, though he’s also shown he can handle either corner adeptly as well.

The Mariners handed out a dozen six-figure bonuses during the 2019-20 international signing period. One of them went to Jimenez, a young outfielder who signed out of the Dominican Republic on July 2, 2019 for $480,000. He wasn’t able to make his official pro debut until 2021 and after a ho-hum debut that summer, he repeated the Dominican Summer League in 2022. He took a big step forward there last summer, finishing with an OPS of .992 that would have placed him in the top 10 had he amassed enough at-bats to qualify.
An outfielder who hits and throws left-handed, Jimenez has a smooth swing that evaluators really like. He’s hit-over-power with excellent plate discipline that led to a walk rate of 18.7 percent in his two summers in the DSL, though that also came with a 25.2 percent strikeout rate. He can impact the ball enough with a line-drive, gap-to-gap approach.
An average runner, Jimenez has shown he can steal a base and also does a solid job in center field. He’s probably more of a corner outfielder long term, and that will put more pressure on him to develop into a run producer at the plate. But the Mariners think he’s the type who can see time in all three spots, with enough arm for right and the ability to play center at the highest level in a pinch. He impressed the staff during Spring Training this year in advance of his U.S. debut.
