Sanchez is one of the best overall hitters in the class. The outfielder uses a mechanically sound swing to drive the ball to all fields with authority. He features a slightly upward swinging motion, spraying the ball into the gaps. He is a bit wiry right now, but his power is expected to increase as he matures and fills into his body.
Defensively, Sanchez has good reaction times and takes good routes to fly balls. Given his range, ability to get a good jump and plus arm strength potential, he could stick in center field, though transferring to right should be seamless if he's moved there. Scouts love his confidence and have applauded his overall makeup.
Sanchez trains in the Dominican Republic with Cristian Pimentel, a member of MLB's Trainer Partnership Program.

Sanchez was in the Top 10 of the 2024 International Prospects list and was paid accordingly, getting $2.7 million from the Reds when that signing period opened in January of ‘24. He didn’t put his best foot forward, scuffling during his pro debut in the Dominican Summer League, finishing with a .701 OPS and a 33.9 percent strikeout rate. Repeating the DSL in 2025 was the right call because Sanchez did a 180, hitting .339 with a .978 OPS before a minor leg injury kept him from a planned move to the Arizona Complex League.
The biggest reason for the turnaround was the tweaking of his setup and mechanics, especially pre-swing. He had previously had a lot of movement with his bat early, which contributed to the high swing-and-miss rate. He worked with the Reds to cut down the movement, getting into a better position to hit earlier. He shaved his K rate down to 13.6 percent as a result while continuing to draw walks. The left-handed hitter is capable of very hard contact with some ability to loft the baseball, with more power to come if he can continue to slow things down in the box.
Sanchez played both center and right field in 2025 and he’ll continue to get reps in both outfield spots moving forward. The hope is that he can stay up the middle, but he might slow down too much for that to be a realistic projection. A full-time move to a corner puts more pressure on that bat, but if his mechanical adjustments from 2025 are for real, he could profile just fine there.

In a perfect world, a prospect ranked in the top five of an international signing class who gets a seven-figure bonus would hit the ground running in his Dominican Summer League debut and then be ready to take the United States by storm the following season. But development isn't always the straight line teams desire it to be and Sanchez, who signed for $2.7 million in January of 2024, really struggled in the DSL, finishing his debut summer with a .216/.356/.345 line.
Sanchez still has plenty of projection and physical ability that he needs to learn how to use consistently. He entered pro ball with the reputation of having a simple left-handed swing that can produce hard contact and a solid approach. He's shown some loft in his swing with more gap power now, but the thinking was more would come with maturation. He needs to learn to get his bat into a better position so he can stay through the zone and be on time more consistently which would help him reduce his nearly 34 percent strikeout rate during his debut.
After getting most of his defensive reps in center field during his debut, Sanchez will keep playing there and right field mostly going forward. He's an average runner but has good instincts in the outfield, giving him the chance to stick up the middle depending on how much he slows down. For now, he'll try to hit the reset button for 2025.

Thought to be one of the best hitters in his class, Sanchez was ranked No. 5 on MLB Pipeline's Top 50 International Prospects list when the 2024 signing period opened in January. The Reds never shy away from going after top talent on a yearly basis and the $2.7 million they gave Sanchez to sign is the fifth straight signing period they've given out at least one seven-figure bonus.
Sanchez has a simple and mechanically sound swing from the left side of the plate, showing the ability to drive the ball to all fields with consistently hard contact, while exhibiting a solid overall approach. He has some loft in his swing and while he's wiry right now -- he sprays the ball into the gaps -- there should be more power to come with that swing as he fills out his 6-foot-1 frame.
While he's just an average runner, Sanchez has good instincts with solid reads and routes when tracking flyballs. That could give him the chance to stick in center field long-term, though his plus arm would be an asset should he have to move to right.
