Hudson, N.C., has been very good to the Giants, producing South Caldwell HS left-hander Madison Bumgarner, who helped the franchise win three World Series championships. The tiny town also is the home of Caldwell CC, where Davidson batted .412/.508/.876 with 16 homers as a sophomore in 2023. He went undrafted but the Giants signed him for a $50,000 as a free agent out of the summer Coastal Plain League.
Davidson features one of the best power/speed combinations in the system. His strength and sound left-handed swing produce plus raw pop, though he's still figuring how to tap into it by pulling more pitches and driving them in the air consistently. Likewise, he's in the process of learning to make the most of his plus speed on the bases and on defense, spending most of his first full pro season in left field.
Though he hasn't faced a lot of advanced pitching, Davidson has made a decent amount of contact against Single-A competition and handled himself well in brief exposure to pro southpaws. He has 20-20 potential and the wheels to chase down balls in center field once he refines his instincts. If he winds up on a corner, his solid arm strength would play well in right field.
