Scouts see a lot of similarities between Henderson and Pratt, who finished the showcase circuit as one of the top performers at the World Wood Bat Association World Series in October. They both played at private high schools in the Deep South and had tall, projectable builds with the potential for solid or better tools across the board, though Henderson had the advantages of batting left-handed and a tick more arm strength. Pratt led Magnolia Heights HS (Senatobia, Miss.) to its 11th straight Midsouth Association of Independent Schools 5-A title this spring, pitching a three-hit shutout and driving in two runs in the championship game.
Gatorade's state player of the year, Pratt features some of the best bat-to-ball skills and strike-zone awareness in the 2023 high school class. He has a smooth right-handed swing with plenty of bat speed, and his 6-foot-4 frame features projectable strength and good leverage. He drives balls in the air without trying to sell out for home runs, and while most of his present power comes to his pull side, he should have pop to all fields once he's fully developed.
An average runner out of the batter's box, Pratt has solid speed once underway. With his instincts and solid, accurate arm, the Mississippi recruit may be able to remain at shortstop despite being bigger than most players at the position. He's a more consistent defender than Henderson was at the same stage and has all the tools to profile at third base if he has to move.
A solid showcase performer in 2023, Pratt looked headed to Ole Miss as the Draft progressed, only to go in the sixth round and sign for second-round money at $1.35 million. The Mississippi native enjoyed a solid first full season with a .277/.362/.406 line, eight homers and 27 steals in 96 games between Single-A and High-A and was pushed out aggressively to Double-A for his age-20 campaign in 2025. Pratt’s overall numbers (.238/.343/.348, eight homers in 120 games) may not have popped, but he did post an above-average 107 wRC+ over 527 plate appearances, the fourth-most by a player aged 20 or younger at Double-A.
On the positive end, Pratt cut his strikeout rate from 20 percent in ’24 to 15.2 in ’25 despite the move up a level. He refuses to expand the zone in zero- or one-strike counts and then flips that approach with two strikes to be swing-happy, relying on his solid bat-to-ball skills to keep the strikeouts down. Although he stands 6-foot-3, Pratt hasn’t packed a huge punch in the power department, either in terms of homers or pure exit velocities, but he’s also been young for everywhere he’s played. There’s still a chance he gets to average pop down the line, but 12-15 homers per season seem more likely.
A Minor League Gold Glove winner in 2024, Pratt continues to flash impressive timing and instincts at a premium position, and while his decent speed doesn’t give him huge range, his arm strength and accuracy still help him on some of the deeper throws. His combination of contact and defense gives him a solid floor and a fighting shot to be Milwaukee’s shortstop of the future, even with Jesús Made and Luis Peña charging up behind him.

He appeared in two postseason games for Double-A Biloxi closer to home and homered in one to round out a full 2024.

He’s more of a line-drive hitter at this early stage of his development, and he’s already shown a solid ability to yank liners to his pull side for doubles. Brewers officials noted with interest that he showed more power at the higher level with Wisconsin -- a possible combination of confidence, swinging with intent and physical maturation -- and given his size at 6-foot-4, there is the potential for average power at Pratt’s peak, though it hasn't showed up much with Biloxi in '25.
