The vibrant and eclectic streets are a key feature of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Alive and full of energy, Nuñez brings a similar style to the diamond, playing with lots of swagger while also wanting to prove why he could be next in a long lineage of impact ballplayers to come from the nation’s capital. He draws positive reviews for his willingness to learn and improve on all facets of his game, while the fact that he’ll be just 17 for the entirety of his first pro season gives him an even longer leash of development.

Nuñez starred for his country during the U15 World Cup in Colombia in August 2024, where he hit .350 and recorded 11 RBIs across eight games. While his power is still developing, he has an advanced eye at the plate among his age group, as evidenced by his 6:3 BB/K ratio in that same tournament. Starting from a slightly open and upright stance, Nuñez allows his quick hands to propel the bat through the zone, oftentimes peppering line drives to the entirety of the field.

There’s little doubt that Nuñez will stick in center field as he transitions to the pro game on the basis of top-tier actions with the glove. He uses his above-average run tool to track down nearly everything from gap-to-gap, while also displaying a plus arm that discourages the opposition from trying to grab extra bases. Nuñez swiped nine bags (on 10 attempts) during his World Cup appearance and has been clocked as fast as 6.5 seconds on 60-yard dash times, displaying an ability to impact the game in all facets as he continues to hone his craft.

At the start of the 2026 international signing period, the Reds jumped in by handing out a total of 11 bonuses of six figures or higher. At the top of that list was Nuñez, who came in at No. 6 on MLB Pipeline’s Top 50 international prospects list and received $3 million to join the organization. A national team standout who starred for the Dominican Republic’s team in the U15 World Cup in 2024, hitting .350 with 11 RBIs across eight games, Nuñez brings a high energy and swagger that matches the vibrant and eclectic streets of his home city of Santo Domingo, to the Reds' system.

A left-handed hitting 5-foot-10 sparkplug, Nuñez has already shown a feel to hit with an advanced approach at the plate. With an open and upright stance, Nuñez uses his quick hands to propel the bat through the zone, showing early acumen at spraying line drives to all fields. While he isn’t that big, there is some power for him to grow into, though it will likely be a hit-over-pop profile.

Nuñez is easily a plus runner who has recorded some elite-level 60-yard dash times. He has the ability to use that speed on the basepaths, stealing nine bases in 10 tries during that World Cup, and in the outfield. He combines his wheels with excellent instincts to track down balls in center field, where he’ll be able to play for a long time with his strong arm an added bonus.
