After signing with the Cardinals for $75,000 out of Venezuela in January 2025, Dos Santos quickly thrust himself into the spotlight with a stellar first pro season in the Dominican Summer League. He ranked among the Top 10 DSL qualifiers in slugging (.570), OPS (1.053), ISO (.258) and wRC+ (158) over 38 games at the Minors’ lowest level. St. Louis sent him stateside for his age-18 season this spring, and he cruised through the Florida Complex League after only 27 games, hitting .264/.429/.586 with six homers in that span before a mid-June promotion to Single-A.
A switch-hitter, Dos Santos looks more explosive from the left side at this juncture compared to the right, where he’s a bit stiffer. That’s not a huge shock for a young hitter who lacks reps against lefty pitchers at this early stage. In his favor, he generally doesn’t expand the zone and will take the walks offered to him, giving him discipline that should help at most stops. The jump to full-season ball has quieted his in-game power production, but he’s already hitting balls up to 109.5 mph -- a rarity for his age -- and getting the right angles off the bat to project above-average pop down the line.
Dos Santos is an average runner who has picked his stealing opportunities generally well early in his career. He split his time between shortstop and second base in the DSL and has continued to move between both spots in 2026, even sprinkling in a few FCL games at third. His bat is what will drive him anyways, and it’s telling how aggressive St. Louis has been to this point.
