Scouting Report

2025

Scouting grades: Fastball: 45 | Curveball: 60 | Slider: 50 | Changeup: 45 | Control: 50 | Overall: 40

Elissalt had two separate junior college stints, first at Coastal Alabama CC (2023) and then at Chipola College (2024) -- the latter being a stop for Russell Martin, José Bautista and Patrick Corbin, among others. After posting a 4.85 ERA with 78 strikeouts in 65 innings at Chipola, the right-hander was committed to Southern Miss, but the Tigers coaxed him out of that with a 13th-round pick and $187,500 signing bonus. Elissalt dominated at Single-A Lakeland to begin his first full season (2.48 ERA, 77 strikeouts in 65 1/3 innings) and earned a promotion to High-A West Michigan in early August.

The 6-foot-4 hurler generates above-average extension to get down the hill well before he releases from an over-the-top slot. His four-seamer touches 94-95 mph but is typically closer to 90-93. The extension, along with decent carry, helps it play better than the subpar velo alone. His best pitch is a 77-80 mph curveball that drops almost six feet while getting a foot of gloveside sweep with above-average spin. He also works with an 82-84 mph slider for a tighter breaking ball and a mid-80s kick-change that kills spin and flashes well but isn’t thrown often.

Working from the first-base side of the rubber, Elissalt has solid command and control and doesn’t overthrow to blast the ball past batters. That said, a few extra ticks of velocity could go a long way here as he gears up to face upper-level hitters, and until he goes to the kick change more, he faces a splits issue against lefties. The overall ingredients still point to his potential as a No. 4/5 starter, a solid return for a Day 3 JuCo pick.
