A California high school product, Huezo didn't turn 18 until three months after the Astros signed him for $397,500 as a 12th-round pick in 2023. Injuries and strikeout issues resulted in him spending most of his first three years as a pro in Rookie ball, but he does offer one of the more interesting combinations of power and speed in the system. After overcoming hamate surgery early in 2025, he played the final month of last season at Single-A, where he batted .301 with a pair of homers in 22 games, then led the Australian Baseball League with a 1.031 OPS during the offseason.

One of the strongest hitters in the system, Huezo hits balls exceptionally hard with a left-handed swing designed to crush balls to right field. He has 30-homer upside, but to get there he'll have to make a lot of adjustments at the plate after striking out at a 32.7 percent clip his first three pro seasons. His stroke gets too long and uphill, he chases too many pitches and he struggles to connect with non-fastballs.

Huezo has solid speed and is aggressive on the bases, swiping 27 bags in 35 tries (77.1 percent) in 127 pro games. He played all three outfield spots in 2025, spending the bulk of his time in center field, where he's an average defender. He profiles best in right with his power and solid arm strength.
