Evansville (Ind.) Memorial HS spawned Don Mattingly but hasn't had a player drafted since 1993. That will change this July because Fisher is the state's best prep pitching prospect since Ashe Russell and Nolan Watson became Royals first-rounders a decade ago. Also a star quarterback, Fisher is one of the more projectable and athletic pitchers in the 2025 high school class.
At his best, Fisher works at 92-93 mph and touches 95 with a high-spin fastball that features good carry with natural cut. There are times when he'll operate more at 88-91 mph, but his heater still plays and should create more consistent velocity as he fills out his 6-foot-3 frame. Gatorade's Indiana high school player of the year, he also creates high spin rates on his low-80s slider and upper-70s curveball while demonstrating aptitude for a fading mid-80s changeup.
Fisher's athleticism helps him move down the mound well and repeat his solid delivery, producing extension and consistent strikes. With added strength, the Indiana recruit could become a mid-rotation starter with a plus fastball and slider. He sustained a small fracture in his pitching elbow when he got tackled playing football as a sophomore but has experienced no ill effects since.

Memorial High School in Evansville, Indiana, will always be known for producing Don Mattingly, but Fisher represents the first player from the school to be drafted since 1993. While he didn’t quite surpass former Indiana prep pitchers Ashe Russell and Nolan Watson as a first-round pick, the two-sport standout -- he also starred at quarterback at Memorial -- did get close to second-round money ($1.25 million) from the Phillies to sign as a seventh-rounder in the 2025 Draft.
Fisher is already a presence on the mound at 6-foot-3 with a combination of stuff and projection. He can really spin the baseball, both with his heater and a pair of distinct breaking balls. He tends to work in the 92-93 mph range, touching 95 with a high-spin fastball that has good carry and natural cut that allows it to play up. The spin rates on both his top-to-bottom upper-70s curve and traditional low-80s slider are also very high, and he can miss bats with both. It’s his fourth pitch, but he has some feel for a fading changeup as well.
The athleticism that made him stand out on the gridiron helps him on the mound, where he repeats his delivery with good extension and throws a lot of strikes. He has room to add strength, which should lead to more consistent velocity, helping him reach his ceiling as a mid-rotation starter.
